"Too Many Problems, Few Solutions" (June 12, 2014)

As I consider the world about me, it is not hard to be reminded of the warnings and admonitions of our Lord Jesus Christ. Statements such as, "As it was in the days of Noah before the flood, they were eating and drinking..." and seemingly living the good life. Not having a "clue" that impending judgement and God's wrath were at their door- steps.

We have heard the quotations referring to "Sodom and Gomorrah," how they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving themselves in marriage. This so much reflects the hedonistic lifestyle of so many here in America. And what a pity that even the derelick, the transient, the society drop- outs, with their shinola made up cardboard signs stand on the corners "blessing America" for a piece of pocket change. We haven't become benevolent, we have become cheap. Can you imagine our dear Savior being sold on the streets of Jerusalem; the city that God chose to put His name; for thirty pieces of silver? No wonder Jesus asked the question, "When the son of man returns, will He find on the earth faith?"

Will you please indulge me another small observation? This generation is, in my opinion, at the brink of one last end-time warning. As I was meditating on the word of God, the following passage captivated me. It's found in Luke's gospel; and I believe it is the Lord Jesus speaking again to His audience regarding the coming of the Lord. "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." (Luke 21:25)  It seems clear to me that Jesus is pointing to the fact that cosmic signs will precede His coming and the world will be in great confusion not knowing how to resolve or alleviate its condition.

We have seen great eclipses and terrible tsunamis, devastating whole countries. We've witnessed a falling meteorite hit Russia and injure hundreds of people. We saw the moon turn red right before our eyes. There are thousands of earthquakes taking place every day. So many nations facing great problems they know they cannot solve. Hunger, famine, pestilence, violence, terrorism, and ongoing wars all over the world.

Here in America, people are under the control of drugs, alcohol, tabacco, pornagraphy, prostitution, homosexuality, and gambling. If our President seems a little distant and uninvolved, its because he knows he cannot even attempt to tackle so many challenges. Every time he attempts to resolve one thing or another he ends up with egg on his face. Our problems are serious and require major reconstruction. We need to pray that God raises up some real statesmen, men of integrity and of good moral character. Men who are willing to pay the price of commitment to a cause greater than themselves and men who will not compromise, sell out, or be bought.

God fearing men who understand that the Almighty is our Father and Creator and rules and intervenes in the affairs of men. Darwinism, psychology, humanism, secularism, and relativism have polutted men's minds to the point that we are suffering an identity crisis. That's why I believe it has been easy for satan to confuse so many about their sexuality, turning it into a perversion. Let me say it loud and clear, "Jesus is the answer for the world today, besides Him there is no other, He is the only way, the truth and the life."

Friend, only Jesus died for our sins - call upon Him today and be saved.
